I am a major Marvel nerd, so it is safe to say that I was very excited for Avengers: Infinity War. I went with my best friend, who I have seen every Marvel movie of the last four years with. Prior, I said many things like “My whole life has led to this,” or “my body is not ready.” Well, my body was not ready for the emotional rollercoaster that it was. Here are what I think are some of the best and most shocking moments in Avengers: Infinity War.
Best: Loki saying “we have a Hulk”
Shocking: Loki and Heimdall dying so early
Best: When Tony told Ebony Maw to “get lost Squidward”
Shocking: Hulk getting completely destroyed by Thanos
Best: Teenage Groot and his video game
Shocking: Vision’s human form and then being injured
Best: Captain America’s hair and beard *swoon*
Shocking: Peter (Parker) and Tony sneaking onto the spaceship
Best: Thor meeting the Guardians
Shocking: Red Skull coming back
Best: Quill copying Thor (who can blame him?)
Shocking: Gamora and Thanos’ origin story
Best: Thor calling Rocket “Rabbit”
Shocking: Thanos sacrificing Gamora
Best: Peter (Parker) and Tony meeting the Guardians on Titan
Shocking: The group on Titan nearly beating Thanos
Best: Mantis landing on Thanos’ head
Shocking: Quill’s moment of weakness and punching Thanos
Best: Peter (Parker) and Quill’s love for Kevin Bacon and Footloose
Shocking: Thanos stabbing Tony
Best: Peter Dinklage’s (aka Tyrion Lannister) cameo as the sad dwarf
Shocking: Dr. Strange sacrificing himself for the Time Stone
Best: Groot cutting his own arm off to create Stormbreaker’s handle
Shocking: Hulk refusing to appear
Best: Okoye dreaming of the Olympics or a Starbucks in Wakanda
Shocking: The battle in Wakanda: the yibambe battle chant, the creatures, the giant burrowing spinning things
Best: Thor’s completely epic return at the battle in Wakanda
Shocking: Tony being stranded on Titan
Best: Bucky picking up Rocket and spinning him around in battle
Shocking: Captain America taking on Thanos barehanded
Shocking: Scarlet Witch destroying the Mind Stone and Vision, but Thanos reversing time
Shocking: Thanos actually getting all the Infinity Stones
Shocking: Thor nearly killing Thanos
Shocking: The. Entire. End.

While this movie devastated me, there is hope. Captain Marvel was called in the post credits scene (always watch the post credits!), and with Spiderman, Guardians, and Black Panther sequels coming out, we know that can’t actually be dead… we hope, anyway.
