The Phases of Returning Home for Thanksgiving Break

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Williams chapter.

The Phases of returning home for Thanksgiving Break

  1. Once you’ve relished in the exuberant, animated greeting of your pup, you rush to your friend’s house and immediately squeeze them to death! Three months feels like three years.

  1. Now you should probably go hang out with mom and family because mom has been posting for weeks on facebook about how excited she is for your impending return.

  1. Sleepovers are now in order! Go spend time with your girlfriends talking about all the boys in their lives and how things have changed now that they’re crazy college students.

  2. Make the rounds and visit any other friends, teachers, etc. that you’ve left out of the loop up until this point. There’s nothing like a hometown visit and the bonds you feel with the community.

  1. Many of you will now have ample time to watch excessive amounts of Netflix. This year I recommend The Gilmore Girls Revival! Or if you haven’t already seen the seven seasons before this, do that NOW!

  1. Hit up all your favorite food places and shops around town. Or just spend time cooking in the kitchen with mom. You don’t have access to all this great food in the dining halls or the luxury of shopping.

  1. By the time that it is time to return home, you will be missing the freedom and new friends of college so it won’t be too difficult to tear yourself from your besties. Especially since there’s only three weeks until Christmas break!
