We all know the struggle: your free time ticks by as you scroll through Netflix without an end to your search within sight. Fortunately, as a huge K-media fan, I have your back with a few recommendations that you might want to check out if you were ever curious about trying out a new territory of Netflix shows.

  1. Business Proposal

Based on a popular webtoon, Business Proposal is the perfect balance between cheesy and sweet. The story kicks off with Ha-ri as she goes on a blind date in disguise as her friend to scare away her date. However, things get messy when the date turns out to be Ha-ri’s CEO, and he makes a proposal. Each episode keeps you laughing and at the edge of your seat.

Bonus: the side couple has many cute moments throughout the show!

  1. All of Us Are Dead

Also based on a webtoon, the show is a fresh take on zombie horror thrillers focusing on a solid ensemble within a school setting. Alongside navigating the obvious battleground of zombies, the show tackles coming-of-age themes and relationships between the characters.

  1. Twenty Five Twenty One

Twenty Five Twenty One is both heartwarming and heartwrenching as it perfectly weaves together themes of youth such as friendship, dreams, and first love. Its realistic and bittersweet tone has fans hooked until the very last episode.

  1. Reply 1988

No show has captured nostalgia and the warmth of family and friendship as well as Reply 1988 in my opinion. Reply 1988 looks back on the year 1988, following the lives of five different families living in the same neighborhood. Its bittersweet depiction of the simpleness of life helps it stand out among even the fanciest of storylines.

In recent years, Netflix has been expanding its K-Drama selection, seeing a boom in interest from viewers worldwide. For example, Squid Game has proven to be a must-watch amongst Netflix viewers with its provoking message and intriguing storyline. However, there is a vast selection of genres across K-Dramas that I, unfortunately, am unable to capture in a modest list of four. Even then, hopefully, my list can be the beginning of your new obsession!
