Have you ever looked in the mirror and thought to yourself, ‘I am not enough’? I think we all have at some point in our lives. The question you should be asking yourself instead is “How can I change my mindset?” The answer is simple: Confidence. Confidence is at the core of some of the most important decisions and some of the decisions we learn from most. Being confident is not only a great mindset, it is a great way to trick yourself into success. Here are a few reasons why:

People Look at You Differently

When you walk down the street, do you keep your head high and your shoulders back? Or when you walk by someone, do you keep your head down with your headphones in and keep walking? Whether you do one or the other, they both exude the energy that people will read from you. So where can you apply this to succeed? Well, when you walk into a job interview and shake the employer’s hand, you want to come across as confident and assured. If you walk in timid and barely make eye contact, then your odds of getting the job may lower. But if you put a smile on your face, meet their eyes and walk in confidently, then you may increase your chances of employment.

You Don’t Doubt Yourself

Being confident not only makes others believe in you but also makes YOU believe in you. You are your number one supporter, and you should be able to stand behind each decision you make. Being confident in your choices allows you to succeed on your own terms. You don’t have to worry about whether or not you made the right choice, because you stood behind what you believed in. This plays such a big role in success because not only are you physically succeeding, but mentally as well.  You are meeting all of your obligations by standing by what you believe in.

You Can Say NO

Being confident gives you the ability to say no to things you don’t want to do. By saying no, you avoid taking on any obligations that may deter you from your goals.  This allows you to focus on yourself and your priorities, rather than overwhelm yourself with trying to please everyone.

Confidence in Trying New Things

When trying something new, rather than hesitating and being unsure of yourself, your confidence makes you able to fully commit to it. This means that you will be able to take full advantage of every new opportunity that comes your way.

Confidence = Resilience

When you find your confidence, you are willing to try over and over again. When life gets you down, your confidence is the source of your recovery. If you believe in yourself, your will to try again will be greatly increased which will eventually lead to success.

Confidence is the key to your success. Embrace yourself and be undeniably you. If you stay true to yourself and what you believe, you will eventually succeed (even if it takes a few tries before you get there).
