Without much of a surprise, Taylor has taken over the world again this year. Although every one of her songs are a hit, there are certain ones that manage to appeal to just the right mood you’re in, when you need them.

If you’re feeling sad, there’s tons of Taylor’s songs you could listen to. However, my favourite sad song by Taylor Swift is Never Grow Upfrom Speak Now. This song manages to perfectly explain the sadness that accompanies growing up. If you have an issue that’s related to the subject matter of growing up, this song will definitely be the right one for your sadness. Another old Taylor classic that can get you in the feels is Teardrops on my Guitar from the Taylor Swift album. If you need a sad song that’s also breakup related, I suggest Back to December or a Red classic, Sad Beautiful Tragic.

Let’s say you’re having a great day with some friends and you’re feeling happy, what song should you look for? August from folklore is the perfect vibe. A little upbeat, not too fast and not one you need to listen to the lyrics entirely for either. Cruel Summer from the Lover album also has a similar upbeat and is easy vibe to and sing along to with friends. Anti-Hero is also good for this situation. Not only does it provide easy lyrics to sing along to but also since Midnights just came out, your friends should know it, even if they aren’t Swifties.

Falling in love is sweet, so you’ll need a song to match the energy you feel in this type of situation. Lover, Paper Rings, Our Song, Fearless, Love Story, Mine or invisible string are great examples. If I’m being honest, there are so many more that know just how to encapsulate the feeling of falling in love. There’s a gentleness to these songs that provide just the right feelings when listened to. The love songs are also easy to listen to with whomever you’re with. Whether it’s friends, family or even the person you feel these feelings for, these songs will always be appropriate for every situation.

If you’re in the mood to get back at someone, Taylor is the queen of revenge songs that can make you feel heard. First of all, Better Than Revenge is a mandatory mention. Speak Now created all kinds of masterpieces, but this one is definitely in the angry/revenge category. Along with that, Look What You Made Me Do is a solid listen for this kind of mood. If you feel like blaring one in the car while you’re mad, a classic Picture to Burn, or Mean are perfect, especially to channel that teenage angst (even if you’re no longer a teenager, that’s okay). There are many more songs that could be listed in each category but if you’re already a Swiftie, you know that. If you’re new to the Taylor Swift wave, I hope you find these songs as enjoyable as I do.
