Hate to break it to you hunny, but that super cute guy who just added you on snapchat? He might not be who you think he is. When you start talking to someone new, you need to know what you’re getting yourself into. Here are some things to look for when trying to see if your new boo is a player.

He Only Messages You on Snapchat

Starting the talking process over Snapchat is totally cool, but how long can that go on for? We’re all constantly waiting for that snap that will say “can I get your number?”. Talking on Snapchat isn’t as sincere as a text message, and if he isn’t asking for your number, how serious is he REALLY about talking to you?

His Only Form of Plans Are Going on Drives

If he really wanted to hang out with you, he’d make it clear. Going for food, or to a movie, or even chilling at someone’s house is a sign of taking things seriously. Going on a drive is a common form of the ideal “plan” in the eyes of a fuckboy. They can drive around for 10 minutes, say they’re tired and have to pull over. This is the chance for them to make their move on you, and trust me, the back of a car is not as comfy as your ideal chill spot AT ALL.

“Send Pics”

NUDES. All these boys want are nudes. Showing them off to their friends, and having the satisfaction that they could get them out of you is exactly what they want. If you’re not 100% about him and the situation, and all of your conversation’s end with “send pics”, be careful with your decisions. Things done and said on social media can’t always be taken back, and we don’t need this fuckboy haunting you forever.

His Instagram Consists of Flexing Mirror Selfies

These are the CLASSIC pictures often posted by fuckboys. They love themselves and they want you to love them and their arms too. Little do they know, a cute pic with their family would make us say “aww” instead of “EW.”

Late Night Messages Only

If he’s really into you, he can talk to you during the day too, not only when he’s in bed at night, bored, and probably wants those pics we talked about. You’re worth more than a late-night text, don’t let him make you forget that.

He’s Insanely Protective Over His Phone

Clearly trying to hide his phone? Probably means he is trying to hide all of the other girls he’s speaking to from you. “You’re the only girl I’ve been talking to” is the biggest lie from this type of guy EVER.

He’s Avoiding Defining the Relationship

You’ve been hooking up for a bit and he’s still avoiding the feelings and relationship talk? Heads up, he’s probably hoping there won’t be one at all. Before you get too invested, make sure you know where both of your heads are at to avoid getting hurt.

“I don’t do the meeting parents thing.”

This HAS been said to me before, so don’t be too surprised. If he’s not into learning and being involved with everything you are, including your family, his intentions clearly aren’t in line.

You are way too good to be fucked over by a fuckboy. When talking to someone new, keep your eyes open. Avoid being hurt or disappointed before it’s too late. These fuckboys are ALL over the place and they are definitely not someone you want to bring home to your parents. They might be sneaky, but they are avoidable.
