This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Wilfrid Laurier chapter.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year; the holiday season is here and we know that with the festivities fast approaching, a lot of you guys are going to be attending holiday parties! For those of you stressing about what to wear, we’ve created a guide on how to look fashionable for holiday parties even when you’re on a time crunch and not looking to spend a lot of time planning your outfit.

Turtleneck Sweater

This is an ideal option for family holiday parties and gatherings, as you don’t want to look like you didn’t try but not too dressed-up either. Try wearing a turtleneck in a festive colour, such as green or red, and pair it with a nice pair of jeans or trousers!

“Ugly” Christmas Sweater

Perfect for a night-in party with your girls, Christmas sweaters for the whole squad is a cozy and low-maintenance outfit idea. You can find a variety of styles online, ranging from the most festive designs with trees, reindeers and snowflakes to more subtle designs with neutral colours. It’s a super easy outfit idea that doesn’t break the bank or require much effort!

Velvet Mid-Length Dress

Velvet is a classic material for the holiday season and it’s a dressier option for office parties or a night out. They’re easy, quick to style and come in a variety of colours that you can choose from. Try pairing a maroon or black velvet dress with heels for your office party!

Sequin Mini-Dress

If you’re celebrating the holidays at a club or fancier holiday party, you can’t go wrong with a sequin mini-dress. Embrace your extra side; if you want to be the belle of the ball, try a flashy sequin dress with some sparkly heels. Choose from holiday colours like red and green, or go for a neutral option such as gold or silver!

Embellished Jumpsuit

Another idea for a night out, embellished jumpsuits require minimal effort to style plus you don’t have to worry about what to wear as bottoms! We recommend white, gold and silver styles as they’re more wearable for holiday parties; pair it with platform heels for a glamorous look!

Tulle Sleeved Dress

If you’re going to a holiday ball or gala, wearing a tulle sleeved dress will surely turn heads! To avoid looking too bridal, try a shorter cut such as a mini-dress or midi-length dress and wear a darker colour like black or maroon.

Tweed Mini-Skirt

A versatile piece that can be worn for family gatherings and work holiday parties, a tweed mini-skirt is a winter staple that can be styled for more formal occasions. You can add sheer black tights and heeled booties to tie your outfit together or style your skirt with knee-high boots!

Get ready for the holiday season with these effortless yet chic last-minute outfit ideas! We hope that you find these outfit ideas useful and rock some of these styles the next time you’re invited to a holiday party!
