Meet Brigitte! She’s a third year Biology student at Laurier and the face behind “Indulge Without Bulge.” Brigitte is passionate about nutrition, health, and is a strong believer that with a healthy mind and body you can achieve anything.

What is Indulge Without Bulge all about?

Indulge Without Bulge is a blog full of healthy recipes, as well as a few indulgent ones, along with natural beauty remedies, and on-the-shelf natural beauty products. The blog has mostly desserts, yet also includes fitness routines, lunch and dinner meals, and healthy on the go snacks and smoothie recipes. A large majority of the recipes featured are vegan, vegetarian and gluten free, so everyone can enjoy them! The goal of the blog was to make easy, delicious desserts that are secretly healthy and that everyone will love!

Why create a healthy food and beauty blog?

I have always been a huge chocaholic; yet have always loved the challenge of creating decadent recipes that are still healthy. I loved sharing these healthy food creations with friends and family. It wasn’t until people started asking me questions about how they could eat healthier, and for the recipes of successful meals and desserts that I though about blogging. From there I decided to start up a blog so that anyone who was interested in a healthier lifestyle could be provided with the knowledge to do so, and recipes to go along with it! It has been so much fun experimenting with natural beauty remedies, coming up with new recipes, as well as modifying existing ones. Everyone has their way of procrastinating…mine is by experimenting in the kitchen!

What kind of recipes do you share?

I share all types of healthy dessert, lunch, dinner, smoothie and snack recipes. Many of my recipe’s shared are gluten free, vegetarian, paleo, and vegan as well! The recipes are quick and easy to make, and can easily be done on a budget! Almost all of the recipes do not contain flour, butter, dairy, and refined sugar. Taste wise you cannot tell, which is the amazing part!

How do you come up with new and exciting content?

I am always searching instagram, blogs, and websites for new ideas of things that sound delicious! Usually I find a recipe that is full of sugar, flour, butter, and oil. From there I transform it into a healthy dessert, which use healthier substitutes instead! It has been quite the learning experience, and A LOT of fun!

What are you currently working on for the blog?

I am currently working on a Pintrest page, as well as updating the “Natural off the Shelf” beauty section of the blog. I have tested out so many incredible products, and am so excited to share all of the affordable and miracle working secrets that are available for the winter season! I also just completed my first detox following a 24 hour fast. I am extremely excited to share these results, along with the meal plan/detox plan with readers. Working on a detox/cleanse section is to be added to the blog in the near future! Safe to say there is no shortage of things to post!

What is the coolest thing you have learned since starting the blog?

How to actually set up and work a blog has been really exciting, but the most rewarding part has been the huge response so far and the emails that have come in from people. The positive and incredibly nice emails that I have received have been touching. Responses saying such things as that the blog has inspired them to bake and cook and show them how incredible a healthy lifestyle can be, others have shared their weightloss journey with me, as well as others have wanted to share my page on their own. A number of nutritionists/weightloss coaches have posted a link to my blog on their site as well! So far everything has been amazing!
