Girlboss: Women-Centred Erotica Media to Indulge This Valentine’s Day

Whether you’re comfortable admitting it or not, most women indulge in some form of erotica, probably more often than you might think. But while there are tons of sites out there where you can find just about anything you may be interested in, it’s often hard to find erotica for women. Especially on free websites, it probably takes longer than a girl would like to navigate through all the pop-up ads and awful thumbnails of women in degrading and disrespectful points of view.

And let’s be honest – it does nothing to help stay in the mood after seeing so many photos and videos objectifying women. There’s no argument that mainstream erotica rarely focuses on women and mainly caters to the interests of men. Thankfully, there are a lot more women-centered erotica media out there now. Next time you’re looking for something to watch, read or listen to, visit some of these empowering and respectful media sites instead.

Bellesa (watch)

Bellesa is probably one of the better-known adult sites out there, and for a good reason too. It’s an erotica company run by women. I mean, that’s pretty self-explanatory already. Their videos are ethically sourced, which means it’s erotica that values consent and mutual respect between the performers and is often more diverse and inclusive. They also hire women directors and writers to produce their content. What’s not to love? Besides videos, Bellesa’s website also has erotic stories, a whole section dedicated to sex education and their own line of sex toys. Oh, and did I mention it’s free?

Dipsea (listen)

In case you didn’t know yet, yes, audio erotica exists. Think Audible or Headspace, but for erotica. For some people, watching videos can cause a sensory overload, and listening is more than enough. Dipsea is a user-friendly website and a great platform to introduce yourself to audio erotica. They are changing the industry by providing sensual stories that can help you explore what you already like or what might interest you. However, Dipsea only offers a free trial at the start, but you can later subscribe for $59.99 per year, which is less than five dollars a month. You might find it worth it!

Literotica (read)

Videos and audio tracks are great, but sometimes there’s nothing better than just letting your imagination do the work. Literotica is a free resource for erotic fiction and fantasy stories through authors and public submissions. There are a lot of stories and poems on the website, and you may find it hard to navigate at first. If you’re not familiar with erotic stories or Literotica, try reading from their popular section to see what you think. Trust me, the quality of story submissions makes figuring it out well worth the trouble!

Even though much of the best erotica media for women aren’t free, keep in mind that most of the free content online isn’t ethically produced with women in mind. Women-centered media may not be a subscription you want to prioritize and spend on monthly but remember paying for these sites help to advocate for the industry to become more female-friendly for the viewers and the performers. You’re doing something good for yourself and other women!
