You may have noticed that the air is getting cooler and the leaves are starting to change colours. That’s because we are finally in fall!

I’m one of those people who love fall – it’s by far my favourite season. There is just so much to love about it. It may be very early in October, but this month only lasts so long so you have to start embracing it now! All the pumpkin treats and drinks are already out, but for those of you who aren’t a fan of the pumpkin goodness, no worries! Halloween candy is already stocked in stores near you.

Although it’s always a little sad to be putting away the summer clothing and bathing suits, it makes space for the start of sweater season. Pullovers, hoodies, quarter zips – you can wear them all. Don’t forget repping a Laurier sweater too! Fall is the coziest season, but I think it also arguably has the most fun activities.

Who doesn’t love a visit to a pumpkin patch? Picking out a pumpkin to carve isn’t just for kids. It’s a fun annual tradition where you can really express your creativity. Some pumpkin carving designs I see are so complex I don’t even understand how they’re possible. Just make sure you don’t get your pumpkins too early because they can go bad fast! As great as pumpkins are, pumpkin farms aren’t all about the pumpkins. There are often corn mazes, hayrides and a lot of photo opportunities for your insta. They make for cute dates, roommate bonding or even just a fun time with friends and or family.

We can’t forget the grand finale of October, Halloween. You may be thinking it is way too soon to be planning for Halloween, but it really isn’t – you need the time to decide what your costume is going to be! Are you going to a solo look? Group costumes with roommates? Maybe you and your significant other are ready to take things to the next step and do a couple costume. Now is the time to start sorting it out and planning. The sooner you think of what you are going to do, the sooner you can start getting things you need and finding some good deals!

Even the smaller things can contribute to getting into the fall spirit. It’s getting cozy with a spooky movie. It’s baking a pumpkin pie. It’s taking an evening walk in the park to see the colours changes. It’s lighting your newest seasonal candle from Bath and Body Works. It is Autumn, and we must celebrate it while we can!
