Five Podcasts to Get You in the Halloween Spirit

With Halloween just around the corner, now is the perfect time to get into spooky podcasts that will be sure to set the mood for the season. From the paranormal to conspiracy theories, to true crime, there is a podcast for everyone to enjoy. Although I listen to these types of podcasts year-round, there is no better time to start listening than during the Halloween season!

Mile Higher

Kendall Rae and her husband Josh Thomas dive into a multitude of topics ranging from solved and unsolved true crime cases all the way to conspiracy theories, inexplicable phenomena and other mysteries sure to grab your attention. This podcast has something for everyone to enjoy, with nearly 200 episodes and new ones still being released. Kendall and Josh bring together interesting topics and engage their audience with their easy conversation and thought-provoking questions.

My Favourite Murder

If you’re a fan of true crime podcasts, you have probably already heard about My Favourite Murder and if not, you need to give it a listen! This podcast covers true crime cases, both old and new, and constantly speaks about cases that listeners have sent in. Hosted by Karen Kilgariff and Georgia Hardstark, these two have great personalities and chemistry that make you feel as if you’re one of their friends. They release several episodes each week ranging in length, giving you a variety of options to choose from.

Let’s Get Haunted

Hosted by two friends named Aly and Nat, this podcast is the perfect amount of comedic relief and spooky storytelling. With a focus on all things mysterious, paranormal topics and conspiracy theories are investigated in their weekly episodes. This has to be one of the most fun and interesting podcasts I have ever listened to! Aly and Nat use an informal medium to present their detailed research, making it easy to get hooked.

If you want to be spooked out, you need to give Lore a listen. Although I have only heard a few episodes myself, it is a very intriguing podcast that digs deeper into the real history behind common tales we hear today. From creatures to haunted lands to witchcraft, there is a topic for any mood you may be in. This podcast is hosted by Aaron Mahnke, who is recognized as an excellent storyteller and does a great job at keeping his audience engaged. Lore has won several awards and has even been adapted into a television show and a book!

Ghost in The Burbs

Hosted by Liz Sower, this podcast focuses solely on Wellesley, Massachusetts and the ghost stories that come along with it. This podcast effortlessly sets an eerie scene and tone, making it perfect for Halloween and will leave you checking over your shoulder once you’re done! Liz does a great job of keeping things interesting and has even begun a new segment where she talks about ghost stories provided by listeners. With episodes that are only about 30 minutes long, they are quick and easy listens that are guaranteed to grab your attention.
