Do’s and Don’ts: A Guide to Laurier Homecoming

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Wilfrid Laurier chapter.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Homecoming is just around the corner and I’ve got a guide to help you have the best Homecoming ever. From the night before, to the day of, I’ve got you covered!

The night before…

DO get your work done!

Nothing’s worse than having to do assignments on the weekend of Homecoming. So, get them done either the night before or during the week before!

DON’T go out the night before!

Nothing is worth a messy hangover on Homecoming! Take it easy the night before, you have a whole day of cheering and partying to look forward to.

DO get lots of sleep!

Sleep is so important, especially if you are getting up early to begin your day!

The day of…

DON’T wake up at the crack of dawn!

The game does not start until 1 PM, so don’t worry about being late! You’ve got lots of time to get ready and cheer on your Golden Hawks!

DO eat throughout the day!

Eat breakfast, lunch, dinner, and don’t forget about snacks!! Eat your heart out, because you will get hungry throughout the day and no one likes a hangry hawk!

DON’T mix drinks!

Stick to a personal favourite! Mixing can cause so many problems and we don’t want you missing out on all the fun!

DO keep hydrated!

Drink water consistently during the day, especially if it is going to be a hot one. Nobody likes to get dehydrated, water is the key to your success!!

DON’T binge drink!

Nothing is worse than getting sick before the game and missing out. Following this ‘Don’t’ will ensure your safety and allow you to enjoy your homecoming to the fullest!

DO go to the football game!

C’mon, you have to cheer on your Golden Hawks. This will be a great game against Laurier’s London rivals the Western Mustangs! You can get your tickets here.

There you go! These are all my do’s and don’ts to help you have a great HOCO!
