What three words would you use to describe yourself?

Positive, Dedicated, and Radiant

What is your go-to late night snack?

Popcorn and hot chocolate!

Favourite weekend activity?

Honestly, it’s the Sunday night meetings when I get to see my sorority sisters. They can always make me smile and feel so loved, no matter what else happens in a weekend.

Any hobbies outside of Laurier?

I really like to create, overall. Whether it is painting, sewing, knitting or building something, I definitely have a playful and creative side.

What is your favourite quote?

I’d say that my motto is “simple elegance is key”. I think it is important to appreciate the little things and strive to be elegant in all manners.

Who inspires you to be the best version of yourself?

I would say, my big sister, Hannah. She has always been incredibly supportive and she is super smart. She went to Laurier and studied hard, but also showed me that it is okay to have fun and embrace life.

What is your favourite thing about Laurier?

My favourite thing about Laurier is the fact that there is always someone to reach out to, meaning you’re never alone. Whether it’s an advisor, a professor, a club leader, the Dean, or anyone else, there is always someone there. It is the main reason I chose Laurier and I experienced this support before I was even a Golden Hawk. The Laurier spirit makes me feel welcome and at home. I never want to leave.

What are you involved in at Laurier?

In the first semester of my first year, I joined Alpha Omega Sorority and never looked back. I have served as Pledge Educator, and now President for two years. I was also the Graphic Design Coordinator of Women in Leadership Laurier for my first two semesters at Laurier. I have since become a proctor for the Lazaridis School of Business and Economics and a Campus Ambassador. This year I also took on the role of Video Editor as part of the Editorial Board of The Cord. You can find me here, there and everywhere on campus!

What encouraged you to get involved in these specific clubs/organizations/departments?

I really came out of my shell at Laurier and wanted to make friends and try different things. I still don’t know what I would like to be when I “grow up” so to speak, and by taking on as many opportunities as I can at Laurier I hope it will lead to something with purpose. I found groups that were full of vibrant energy and many caring people. Without each person affecting me in the way that they have, I would not be the woman I am today and I am thankful for that.

What advice would you give to students looking to get involved at Laurier?

Get involved with something you’re passionate about and don’t be afraid or embarrassed. I guarantee there is someone out there who has the same interest as you and you’ll be so happy you took a risk instead of missing your chance to do something amazing.

What would be your favourite memory so far at Laurier?

On March 21st of my second year, I was sitting in my archaeology class and I opened up my letter that told me that I had been offered a position as a Laurier Campus Ambassador. I cried in my lecture; I was so happy and excited!

If you could go back to your first day at Laurier, what advice would you give yourself?

I would tell myself to hug my parents a little longer and that it would be all okay.
