How have you been involved at WLU?Since day one, I have gotten involved within Laurier. It’s a well known statistic that students at Laurier are more involved than students at any other university in Canada. This year, I am continuing my involvement in LOCUS by being an OCA (Off Campus Advisor), which is the equivalent of a Don. I absolutely love it so far and couldn’t be happier with it. When I’m not honouring my commitments to LOCUS, I’m working on my club that I started called Bridging the Gap. It satisfies my passion for making big changes and contributions towards breaking stigmas toward aspects of mental health and mental disorders.
If someone wants to become involved with Bridging the Gap, who should they contact? They should email us at bridgingthegaplaurier@gmail.com
What has been your greatest accomplishment this year?My greatest accomplishment this year would have to be a tie between being hired as a LOCUS OCA (Off Campus Advisor), and having my club officially approved by the Wilfrid Laurier Students’ Union. This was a huge deal because it’s a culmination of all my time spent over the summer making phone calls, planning, and studying.
Do you know what you want to do when you’re done your degree?I’m not certain what I plan to do when I graduate; I have a few ideas. It’s most likely continuing my education and getting my masters in something that focuses on International Aid. I could also be getting another degree in languages, or continuing education at law school with an International Law Course. Realistically, it will be a mix of the three.
Best movie you saw this year: Guardians of the Galaxy
Song that you can’t stop listening to:“Hooked on a Feeling” by Blue Swede
Favourite thing to eat at Wilf’s: The Seagram wrap, by far!
