What are you involved in on Campus?
I am currently the Historian for my sorority, Alpha Phi, which means I document events by taking photos and I am also the lead photographer for Her Campus Wilfrid Laurier!
Why did you want to start a YouTube channel?
It all started when I discovered Lilly Singh aka iisuperwomanii. First of all, she’s Canadian and from the same area as I am, so I thought that was awesome but her videos are all so funny! I laugh so much watching her videos every week and they really are a pick me up when I’m feeling down. From there I found so many others Youtubers to watch and I saw how much fun they were having making their videos and meeting their fans, so I thought I would give it a shot. It turns out I love it! Not like I have fans to meet (yet) but I love filming and editing!
What has been the highlight of your YouTube journey?
All of the support that I have gotten from friends, family and even the people I don’t know who subscribe to my videos! Sometimes when I share the link to my newest video, I get comments back from people I don’t know saying that they liked my video! One of the videos I did, I spoke a little bit of Italian and it’s my most viewed video and native speakers even told me I said everything correctly! I am four people away from reaching 200 subscribers! By the time you’re reading this who knows, I could be there! It’s not a lot, but I never thought I’d get to that point!
What are your hopes for your channel?
I hope that I stick to it. I went through a rut where I had no original ideas for videos or the motivation to film. Now I have so many new ideas now that I’m excited to film! I hope that it continues to grow and that the content that I create is liked by my viewers! Maybe one of my favorite Youtubers will see one of my videos and will want to do collaboration with me. I can only wish!
What was your favourite video to film?
My favorite video I filmed is between the one with all my friends called the Best Friend Challenge and my most recent video that I made for Thanksgiving. The one with my friends was a lot of fun to film. We messed up a lot, but we just laughed it off. In my most recent video, I worked really hard on it to create something new and it was so different from any other video I had put up before. I’m really happy and proud of how it turned out!
