On March 16, Taylor Swift called out her fans and friends for not social distancing, and instead going to brunch and having dinner parties. When Taylor Swift says something, Swifties should listen. That being said, you can enjoy some underrated Taylor Swift music during this time and use some of her lyrics to express yourself in captions, tweets, DMs, texts, etc.

You can listen to the playlist in its entirety here on Spotify. I’ve highlighted specific 22 lyrics that I think are relatable captions during this period and 22 lyrics that could be relatable text messages.

For a selfie of you thriving inside your home…

“I’m doing better than I ever was”

“What you’re looking for has been here the whole time”

“I’m in my room, it’s a typical Tuesday night”

“Now that I’m clean I’m never gonna risk it”

For a picture of you and your social isolating buddies…

“I just like hanging out with you all the time”

For a nature picture from a walk…

“These things will change”

“I know places we can hide”

“Desperate people find faith, so now I pray to Jesus too”

For a picture of you and a loved one…

“You and I will be safe and sound”

“And this is when the feeling sinks in, I don’t wanna miss you like this”

For a group picture from a few weeks ago…

“Here’s a toast to my real friends”

“I haven’t seen them in a while”

For a food snap that shows off your new culinary skills or hobby…

“I just pretend it isn’t real”

“I’ve learned a lesson that stressin’ and obsessin’ ’bout somebody else is no fun”

“I wanna be defined by the things that I love”

For an outdoor selfie on a porch…

“Standing by and waiting at your back door”

“Are we in the clear yet?”

For yet another PJ picture…

“I’ve been sleepin’ so long in a twenty-year dark night”

“This is a worthwhile fight”

“I feel a responsibility to do what’s upstanding and right”

For a throwback picture from reading week or last summer…

“I think about summer, all the beautiful times”

“I’d go back in time and change it but I can’t”

For a check-in text message…

“Hey, are you okay?”

For a text message to someone who you don’t want to be bothered by…

“It’s a bad sign, bad sign”

“I don’t wanna touch you”

“I don’t wanna hurt you”

“You’re being too loud!!!!”

For a text message to a loved one who you’re distanced from…

“I don’t want to miss you…like the other girls do”

“I’m one call away, whenever you need me”

“We can’t make any promises now, can we, babe?”

“You’ll be mine and I’ll be yours”

“Your eyes look like coming home”

“I can’t help but wish you took me with you”

“This is falling in love in the cruelest way”

For a text message to follow a risky text…

“Things will never be the same”

“Is it cool that I said all that?”

“It was the night things changed”

For a text message to a serial complainer…

“My castle crumbled overnight”

For a text message to explain just how bored you are at home…

“So I punched a hole in the roof”

“The feeling you can know so much, without knowing anything at all”

“I hate to make this all about me, but who am I supposed to talk to? What am I supposed to do?”

Text message after finding out someone left their house to do something unessential…

“You’ve been getting closer and closer and crossing so many lines”

“YOU SHOULD HAVE GONE HOME”

“Was it worth it?”

I’d love to see these lyrics being used to inspire your Instagram captions. You might want to add a disclaimer in your caption to disclose how old the picture is, so people don’t get mad at you in the comments for not social distancing. Let me know what replies you get to these texts…LOL. I hope you’re staying home and staying safe!
