Although January is almost complete, a reflection on beauty’s past is in order to appreciate the highlights in makeup of 2015. After 365 days of searching the beauty displays high and low, I have compiled a list of my absolute favourite products of the past year. These are not necessarily “the best of the best,” but they are the products I personally had the best experiences with and would highly recommend for every collegiette. Step out of your regular beauty routine this new year and test one of Her Campus’ favorite beauty products of 2015!

Primer: Face primer is definitely not a necessity for everyday makeup, but it does the trick for a night out or an event where you want flawless skin. Benefit Porefessional has been my go-to for 2015; it minimizes pores and smoothes skin to perfection.

Foundation: My favourite foundation for the past year has been Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous. It’s a medium coverage foundation that is oil free. The staying power and shine-free finish constantly impressed me.

Concealer: For years, my all-time favourite concealer has been Maybelline Anti Age Renewal. It completely conceals dark circles after a long night of studying and works flawlessly as a highlight if purchased in a lighter shade.

Powder: Another product that has never failed me is the Rimmel Stay Matte powder. I pat this product on my T-zone and it keeps my skin matte and oil-free all day long.

Bronzer: My go-to bronzer of 2015 has been Chocolate Too Faced Soleil in medium deep. It casts a perfect suntan bronze without being too muddy or orange.

Blush: The perfect shade of blush has been a struggle in 2015, but then I discovered Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Exposed. It gives your cheeks a subtle sun kissed rosy glow without being too pink or orange. I promise it’s worth the splurge.

Highlighter: Glowing skin was all the rage in 2015 and I definitely jumped on that bandwagon. My absolute favourite highlighters were Mac Soft and Gentle and Benefit Watts Up. Highlighter channels your inner J-Lo by adding a champagne shimmer to the highlights of your face.

Mascara: I’m a firm believer in Maybelline mascaras. In 2015, I typically layered Maybelline Lash Sensational with Maybelline Falsies. Lash Sensational separates and lengthens the lashes, while the Falsies add a bold, volumized effect.

Eyeliner: In 2015, I often switched between pencil liner and liquid liner depending on how dramatic I wanted my makeup to be. The pencil liner I gravitated towards the most was NYX Slide On eye pencil. It provides smooth, ultra black application without smudging all over your face. For liquid liner, L’oreal Lineur Intense never fails to pull off the perfect winged liner with its felt-tip brush.

There you have it collegiettes, Her Campus’ compilation of the most loved beauty products of 2015. We hope you love these products as much as we do! xo
