You guessed it! Nina Dobrev. Vampire Diaries’ Marissa Cooper (for the O.C fans out there, you’ll get this reference). Many of us thought it was the end of the supernatural show when its adored main character, Elena, went to rest in a tomb only able to be resurrected when Bonnie, also a beloved character on the show, dies. For many fans, it felt similar to a Sophie’s choice scenario having to pick between the two.
Fear no more! Last Thursday, Nina Dobrev took to Instagram to announce her return to the small screen that is TVD. As many fans know (and may be crying about) TVD is coming to an end in its 8th season, but what better way to end with a bang than to have our dearly beloved Elena back.
Some of the cast members had comments on how excited they were to have her back for the series finale.
“I’m thrilled to bring this show to an end the way we always intended — with Nina back to help us say goodbye,” executive producer Julie Plec said in a statement. Alright TVD fans, you’re all caught up! It is now time to theorize how Elena will return back to the show. Will Bonnie have to die? Will Damon and Elena be reunited? The end is near and it is truly bitter sweet—exciting for her return, but sad because it is the end.
