Western University’s The Wave Introduces A New Menu

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Western chapter.

The Wave, located in Western University’s University Community Centre, has introduced a brand new menu.

The new menu features items such as nacho fries and chimichangas, which are deep-fried burritos that bring together Mexican and American flavours.

This is one of the only casual dine-in restaurants on campus, providing a variety of options for students to choose from. Some of its original items include a gourmet burger menu, fresh pastas, entree salads, wraps, and grill items.

The Wave tries to appeal to a wide range of customers based on the diverse student culture of Western University.

“I appreciate the Wave providing many options, especially because I am a vegan. I still have options to choose from, like the falafel wrap, every time I visit,” said Misha Patel, a second year Western student in the medical science program.

In order to keep up with popular trends, yearly changes are made to The Wave’s menu. This attracts more students, fulfilling their goal of having a busy restaurant that customers enjoy.

According to Cris Cervoni, the store manager, the customer feedback has been positive.

“We get a lot of regular customers [people who eat at The Wave at least twice a week] and to hear them excited and loving some of our new offerings is music to any restaurant manager’s ears,” said Cervoni.

The Wave uses its daily and monthly features to determine which of their items are most popular.

When asked about how the choices are decided Cervoni says, “We sit down together as a management team each Summer and review sales numbers as well as the processes involved in creating each dish…We keep all of our main most popular items as bare bones for menu creation (obviously) but everything else is up for discussion.”

In addition to the new and improved food options, The Wave is also a large and versatile venue that has hosted many USC club events, speaker series’, fashion shows, and nightclub parties.

The Wave is open on Mondays to Fridays from 11am to 9pm.
