Drinking is a big part of college culture, and while I am not personally a huge fan (the taste of alcohol is the grossest thing ever!) I have had a drink or two. Girls are fun when they’re drunk, and I tend to have a huge appreciation for human kindness when I’m around drunk girls. Obviously, different drunk girls play different roles, and I am “the mom” friend, through and through. Drunk girls are fabulous, and there are certain things that only happen when alcohol is consumed.

1. They become best friends with each other

Did a girl’s hair in the bar bathroom one time cause her boyfriend wouldn’t.

2. And start complimenting everything about one another

A girl grabbed my hair at the bar the other night and told me that my hair smelled amazing and I almost cried.

3. They’ll do anything for each other

I’ve seen girls protect each other from creepy guys, even when they didn’t know each other. Women can sense things, like when something isn’t right, and they protect other women.

4. Make unrealistic brunch plans

We won’t go to brunch tomorrow, but I will definitely invite you 20+ times. You’ll say yes.

5. Take too many photos

Going through your camera roll the next morning is like finding out what the Jekyll to your Hyde was up to last night.

6. Add everyone you meet on Facebook/Instagram

A few weeks later, when they post something, you’ll wonder who they are and probably unfriend them.

7. Take terrible photos for other people

“Your head isn’t in this, and it’s blurry, and you’re blinking, but look anyway and tell me what you think!”

8. Cheer for anything

Shots? WOO! The club photographer? WOO! Your best friend kissing a guy? WOO!

9. Eat food they never would sober

Hi poutine. I want to take you home.

10. Cry

Usually at dog videos.
