There is a new addition to Wall Street, as a bronze statue of a strong young girl was placed right in front of the famous “charging bull” in lower Manhattan.

This girl is a symbol to empower young girls and women for International Women’s Day, which took place on March 8th, 2017. This statue was modeled after real girls that the artists know, and showcases a strong representation for gender equality in the business workforce. Not only is this such a powerful way to spread an important message in the bustling streets of New York City, but it is also attracted a lot of attention and continued the conversation surrounding feminism and gender equality.

Even the way this statue was sculpted and created is powerful. The deficiency shown in the girls strong arms placed on her hips and the impact of her leaning forwards towards the front of the snaring bulls face just gives the entire artistic experience an aura of strength.

The Wall Street rearing bull has become a famous attraction for many who visit New York City over the years and has always been considered a token of good luck. Adding the little girl into the mix gives the whole spectacle more room for interpretation. Over the past week, this change in the New York landscape has attracted a multitude of visitors including many young children who interpret this statue as a symbol of power and unity too.

The State Street Global Advisors installed this statute and are fighting to keep the statue on Wall Street for another month, as it has become a popular stop for many citizens.

This young girl is an inspirational figure for all women, as it encourages the continued display of female strength in all areas of life. It also gives young girls the courage to stand up for who they are and really embrace who they will become in the future.
