With a heart of gold and an embrace you can melt in… Western Rugby player and West-Van native Christian Nonni is this week’s Campus Cutie.
Age: 20Program: BMOS Consumer BehaviorHometown: West Vancouver, British ColumbiaRelationship Status: Single
What made you choose Western University? The Rugby team and the size, I wanted to go somewhere that had a real college feel, and I wanted to go to a different province, and so far it worked out, I love London, minus the geese and the snow.
What is your least favourite thing about your program? Trying to get in to see an academic councilor, especially during exam time, it’s a total nightmare. Or the cocky business students that think they’re CEO of Goldman Sachs.
What is your favourite scent of candle?Citrus
What do you order at Starbucks? Not really a fan of Starbucks I usually make some coffee at home.
What song are you obsessed with right now? Fast Lane By Rationale and 10,000 Emerald Pools by BØRNS
If you could be one thing in the world, what would it be?
Someone with the resources and the determination to change the world for the better like Elon Musk, and if that’s not possible then just someone with a job they love, who has the time to travel, and do the things they are passionate about everyday.
Who is your favourite professor? Dr. A. Iarocci, he teaches history of the two world wars (History 2179), it’s awesome to have a prof who is so passionate about what they teach.
Would you consider yourself old fashioned? Besides my decently hipster vinyl record collection I don’t think I’m very old fashioned, maybe if I hit puberty soon I can start shaving with a straight razor and be really old fashioned!
What is your dream career? I would love to be the head of marketing for a tech startup; it would be great to have a job that’s constantly changing and evolving.
Describe your perfect date. Getting drinks and going to a concert, keep it simple.
What is one thing no one really knows about you? I love sailing and kite boarding, I do it as much as I can when I’m home in BC, its probably one of the things I miss most when I’m at school
Tell me about your favourite book. It’s a tie between “Women” by Charles Bukowski, and “East of Eden” by John Steinbeck. “East of Eden” is about two intertwined families during the great depression in California and how their relationships and decisions affect each other. “Women” is about a washed up writer who is reaching old age and no matter how hard he tries he can never make things work with the people he loves.
