Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’re aware that Taylor Swift just released her brand new album, Midnights. The album as a whole is a mix of vibes from her other albums including 1989, Reputation, and Lover. Her song “Vigilante Shit” is very reminiscent of Reputation due to it’s high in exuding bad bitch energy. It’s only fair to combine this bad bitch anthem with some characters that embody that energy to a T. It’s time to give some appreciation to the smartest, most cunning, and confident women who take no one’s attitude.

Katherine pierce from the vampire diaries

“We Both Know I Could Rip You To Shreds And Do My Nails At The Same Time.”– Katherine Pierce

Katherine Pierce was the first character that came to my mind when I heard “Vigilante Shit”. She’s badass, confident, and one of the most memorable characters on the show. She may have been a villain for most of the series but I still couldn’t help but root for her from time to time.

Caelena Sardothien from the Throne of Glass books by Sarah J Maas

“Second place was just a nice title for first loser”– Celaena Sardothien

In Throne of Glass, Caelena Sardothien is an assassin competing to be the King’s Champion and she gets through the competition with grace, confidence, and only a slight amount of fighting. She was the character that taught me that being confident and sure of myself doesn’t make me arrogant or a bitch. Girlie went through it in the books but all the while taught me that I decide my worth and no one else. She completely fits the baddie energy of Swift’s song.

BLAIR WALDORF FROM GOSSIP GIRL

“Not everyone wants to be Blair Waldorf… not everyone can be”– Blair Waldorf

We all know our favorite Upper East Side wealthy heiress. Her style and headbands aren’t the only reason she’s iconic. Blair is known for staying on top of the popular crowd and taking down anyone that opposes her. She knows what she wants and goes for it unapologetically. She always comes out on top of every argument without a single hair out of place.

Jude Duarte from The Cruel Prince by holly black

“If I cannot be better than them, I will become so much worse.”– Jude Duarte

Jude is a human stuck in the world of Faerie and she spends every minute of the series proving just how ruthless and cunning you have to be to survive in that world. She doesn’t let anyone tell her what to do and exceeds everyone’s expectations of her. To quote Taylor, “You did some bad things, but I’m the worst of them”.

Nancy Wheeler from Stranger Things

“It’s not all about comfort, OK? We’re academics.”– Nancy Wheeler

On normal days Nancy Wheeler is just your average student with good grades and a loving boyfriend but when Hawkins becomes anything but normal she changes real quick. Soon enough she’s wielding a gun and protecting those she loves with every bit of energy. Nancy earns the rightful title of being a badass. She takes every situation in stride and faces off against forces both natural and supernatural without a hint of fear.

Daenerys Targaryen from Game of Thrones

“Woman? Is that meant to insult me? I would return the slap if I took you for a man.”– Daenerys Targaryen

Daenerys, the mother of dragons, the khaleesi, and the woman that could bring anyone to their knees. She’s the last of the Targaryens and she was born to rule like the bad bitch she is.

All of these characters perfectly embody the badass energy that encapsulates “Vigilante Shit” by Taylor Swift. Next time you’re reading a book or watching a TV show with characters like these, give the song a listen. I promise it makes the experience so much better!
