Heavy is the head that wears the crown.

From a simple Google search, the definition of a Queen is defined as “the female ruler of an independent state, especially one who inherits the position by right of birth.” I read that, and I laugh in sadness because that is not what it means to be a Queen.

I’ve realized that not all Queens have to wear crowns. In my eyes, most of them are too busy to wear one. Their minds are filled with questions that will never have answers, a level of stress that surpasses the capacity of their crowns and hearts of silver with profound memories of gold.

A Queen has the strength that grows deeper than the roots of her family tree.

A Queen in every fragment of her skin is beautiful.

A Queen is complex in mind, body, and soul.

A Queen is not one that conforms to the ways of this world, she transforms them. With every step she makes, the earth trembles in fear. They stare in amazement of her beauty. Then some look away intimidated by her strength.

A Queen is joy after the rain.

Like the rainbow, she is different yet the same each and every time. She only comes to you after the storm. She always saves the day. Her mind of gold is a crystal stairwell to her heart. It wasn’t perfect for her, but the journey is cherished.

She sits high and looks low to comfort you and protect you.

When God said, “I’ll make a woman.”

I think he meant a Queen.

So chin up my girl or your crown will fall

Stand tall

Back straight and never look down

When you cry, you’re still a Queen.

When life is weighing down on you, you are still a Queen.

No matter what life throws at you, you are still a Queen!

For heavy is the head that wears the crown.
