Things to do on Reading Week… When You HAVE a Reading Week!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Waterloo chapter.

Here’s a list of things to do if you have some extra/free time!

1. Organize the material on your laptop and smartphone. This it will empty out some much needed storing space.

2. Get a haircut, facial, or massage – because your body needs it.

3. Practice cooking, because it’s a skill for life.

4. Book a dentist appointment for a cleaning, or a doctor’s appointment. You need to take of your inside as much as your outside.

5. Plan ahead for your spring term! You don’t want to be spending much time doing this with the warmer weather just around the corner. On the other hand, if you don’t plan on staying around for a spring term, then…

6. Plan your summer vacation! There’s just so much more you can do if you plan months ahead – like getting your hands on really, really cheap plane tickets to your bucket list destination.

7. Catch up with your old friends, because why not have strong and everlasting friendships? OR

8. Catch up with your family because they probably miss you as much as you miss them!

9. Go see CECA, counselling, or any other support/advice system on campus during the break if you feel like you need help this term. Now is a great time to get yourself back on track.

10. Go through your wardrobe because you don’t want useless clothes taking up space when you could donate them.

11. Clean and redecorate your room. You know your room needs it, and it will be reenergizing for you once the term starts again.

12. Look into graduate school options in advance, or apply for jobs! Why waste your time later on when you can do it right now?

Moral of the list: Take care of yourself, those around you, the things around you, and start being more productive with your time because time LITERALLY does fly by!

That’s all for now, hope you all have a fun AND productive “reading” week! ;)

I enjoy naps, cake and sarcasm. Besides that I'm in Honours Science at the University of Waterloo!
