So I’m 20, Now What?

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Waterloo chapter.

So you’re 20 years old, or at least getting close, and a few things start to set in for you. Here’s a list of the top 5 things you’ve probably realized now that you are the big 2-0.

1. You are now two decades old.

While this is still not considered that old by most people, children are the exception. To them you are pretty much ancient.

2. It might be time to start planning more seriously for the future.

The future you dreamed of as a kid is right around the corner; it’s time you started getting ready for it.

3. You should try new things and take risks.

You truly are only young once: make the best of it and take a few risks. Go out for a karaoke night even if you aren’t the best singer, or sign up for the kick boxing class you’ve been dying to try – there is no better time than the present.

4. You start to realize what’s truly important.

You might start to outgrow some of the things you loved so much when you were younger, and although it may not happen drastically, you do start to notice it.

5. The journey to self-love is crucial.

Self-love, or your relationship with yourself, is something you constantly have to work on, much like any other love or relationship.
