Whether it be for the upcoming holidays or your bestie’s birthday, listed below are some of the best gifts to give your BFF:
1. Any handmade gift. One example of such a gift, since I have received this one from my own BFF, is to take a deck of cards and on each card, write something you like/appreciate about your BFF or something that describes them. When I got this gift myself from my own BFF, I was amazed on how much effort she had put into decorating the deck of cards. It was such a meaningful and unique thing to do.
2. Gift them something that they really need! In order to do this, you will need to subtly look for clues in your everyday conversations as they may have been mentioning something that they need over and over again, but you just didn’t notice it.
3. Something engraved with their name, their favourite quote or whatever else you think might be appropriate. In regards to choosing something to engrave, there are countless of options like jewelry, a compact mirror, etc.
4. Buy them a purse/bag and fill it with lots of different goodies. This will be a fun 2 (or more) in 1 gift ;)
5. Customize something of you two together like a mug or cushion. It’s personal, a keepsake, and would look super cute in their room or student place.
6. Bring them somewhere where they have always wanted to go. This can be outside of Canada if you’re lucky enough to have the money, or anywhere in Canada, because who doesn’t like travelling, even if it’s a road trip!
7. If your friend is a bookworm then the obvious could be a good idea in this case which would be gifting them a book or a set of their favourite novel series, comics, etc.
8. Gift them a subscription to anything they like. For example, if they are into makeup then there are tons of makeup subscriptions to choose from online.
9. A case/cover for their cell phone or laptop, which you can also have custom-made to make it more special.
10. You could also go a bit eccentric and gift them something from a country that they really love or have always wanted to travel to. This will probably require a bit of hard work, but how cool would the end result be (especially if they have always wished for your gift)!
11. Send them a bouquet of chocolates, fruits, flowers or a customized cake if they are into those things. There are plenty of companies online who make customized bouquets and baskets (always make sure to read the reviews), or you can send them a handmade hamper with all sorts of neat things that they like!
Lastly, if you still can’t decide on something then a good tip is to think about what they are into like fitness/sports, cooking, science, clothes, tech, jewelry, arts (painting, drawing, and photography), food, organizing, etc. Pro tip: keep a note on your phone of gift ideas for loved ones when they mention things they want or are interested throughout the year!
