With the weather warming up and the birds chirping outside, it’s clear that spring is quickly approaching. Now, with spring comes one thing — it’s time for spring cleaning! That’s right, it’s the time of the year to start anew and rinse away all your winter woes.

While spring cleaning may seem like a daunting chore, there are many ways we can make it fun, easy, and quick. Besides, what’s better than coming back home to a squeaky clean house? Here are some tips and tricks that can ease the stress and struggles of spring cleaning!

  1. Easy-to-make DIY cleaning sprays

With just a cup of vinegar, a cup of distilled water, and 2 tablespoons of lemon, you can make a quick and vegan-friendly cleaning spray! This can help out when you’re in a pinch and run out of cleaning spray, or you can use it as an alternative to cleaning sprays with harsh chemicals.

  1. Use a squeegee to get rid of pet fur in carpets

Pet fur can be tough to get out of carpets, but using a squeegee can be very useful! Simply move the squeegee back and forth across the carpet and the fur will be out in no time.

  1. Use vanilla extract to get rid of unwanted odors in your oven

Put two capfuls of vanilla extract in an oven-safe cup and leave it in the oven at 300 degrees for about an hour. This will leave your house smelling like freshly baked cookies and get rid of any lingering odors around the house, without using any harmful chemicals!

  1. Rub olive oil on your stainless steel appliances

By buffing a bit of olive oil over stainless steel appliances and taps with a microfiber cloth, you can get rid of any dirt and make them look shiny and brand new.

  1. Apply baby powder to grease stains on clothing

Grease stains can be tough to get out of clothing, but sprinkling 1-2 tablespoons of baby powder over the stain can help to get the grease out in a flash.

  1. Clean your sponges by microwaving them

While it may seem odd, sponges are actually a breeding ground for bacteria! By soaking your sponge in water and microwaving it for 1 minute, you can avoid spreading germs and cross-contamination.

  1. Create a baking soda paste to clean out your blender

Mix equal parts of water and baking soda together until it forms a spreadable paste. You can use this to clean out your blender, and this paste can also be used to clean stovetops, sneakers, dirty containers, and much more!

With these tips and tricks, you can make spring cleaning a breeze. Good luck and happy cleaning!
