6 Fall-Inspired Date Ideas

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Waterloo chapter.

It’s officially fall! In honour of this wonderful season filled with pumpkin spice, cozy sweaters, and colourful leaves, I’m bringing you some fall-inspired date ideas. These dates are for everyone. Whether you try them with friends, family, your SO, or yourself, you’re bound to create memories while getting into the fall spirit.

  1. Apple picking

There is nothing better than the moment you pick out the ripest, best-looking apple on the tree. The cooler weather makes this the best date to dress in your cozy fall attire; plus, apple varieties like Granny Smith, Fuji, and Pink Cripps are ready during this time of year, and are some of my personal favourites. After picking apples, you can turn this date into a baking session by making apple pie, crumble, or crisp — whatever your stomach desires.

  1. Fall-inspired crafts

Head to the Michael’s near you and pick up some fall decor. Your best bet is a ceramic white pumpkin; then you can get creative by decorating or painting it. While making your craft, try sipping your favourite warm drink and watching a spooky movie to create the ultimate fall vibe.

  1. Pumpkin patch

Nothing screams fall more than a good pumpkin patch. You can pick out pumpkins and gourds to decorate your house with, or to carve or paint. This date allows you to get fresh air and show your creative side. Another perk of pumpkin patches is that there aren’t just pumpkins — oftentimes, there is the corn maze, wagon ride, and yummy treats for sale. What more could you ask for?

4. Baking

It’s the season for pumpkin spice everything — cookies, scones, loaves, muffins, you name it! There’s nothing better than filling your house with the smells of cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, and ginger.

5. Hiking

What better way to see the leaves changing colours than by going on a hike? You can take a moment to appreciate nature, have a good conversation, and breathe in the crisp, fall air.

6.Picnic

A cozy picnic date is perfect for the fall season. Grab your warm drinks, fall baked goods, cozy blankets, and some good company.

Last of all, be sure to document your dates using a polaroid, disposable camera, or your iPhone!
