Midterm season is upon us and sure enough the libraries will be packed with studious students. But not to worry, I got you all covered! These 15 different places on campus accommodate individual and group study areas that you can use to your advantage this term!

1. Hagey Hall Expansion/Hub

On the ground floor, there is an open space that offers workspace counters, couches and tables for group study. The second floor offers a quiet study space behind a glass-walled room.

 

2. Environment 1 Courtyard

High ceilings, skylights, and vegetation – you can’t go wrong! 

 

3. Velocity Start Up Lounge, South Campus Hall, second floor

It has a modern vibe, lots of tables that are great for group meetings, and has a cafe attached.

 

4. Student Life Centre

The SLC offers a lot of study space for various needs. All of the second floor is used for group study, and the third floor offers individual and silent study space. During final exams, chairs and table are set up in the Great Hall to provide students with additional study space.

 

5. Applied Health Sciences Expansion

There are tables and couches on the first and second floor of the building available for public use. And if you are an AHS student, you have access to private study space located in the building!

 

6. Engineering 5

Group study is available here on the third floor. There is also a lounge on the sixth floor available for group or individual study. Additionally, there’s study space with access to computers on the second floor.

 

7. Modern Languages Cafeteria and Patio

There is a cafeteria and patio located on the lower level of ML. It can accommodate single seating or small groups of up to four people.

 

8. Arts Courtyard

Picnic tables, benches, and Muskoka chairs… need I say more? But definitely take advantage of this space while the warm weather lasts!

 

9. Davis Centre Cafeteria

All the windows let in lots of natural light, the small Tim Hortons is right down the hall to fulfill your caffenie needs, and it’s right in the centre of campus.

 

10. Coffee and Donut Shop, Mathematics & Computer Building, third floor

If you haven’t been yet, go and check out the food options! Lots of variety and student-budget friendly.

11. The Funcken Cafe, St. Jerome’s University

SJU was revamped in the last year and if you haven’t gone to check out their cafe or space, you definitely should!

 

12. Science Teaching Complex

Not only is there a Starbucks with lot’s of table space, but there is also a lounge on the first floor with couches, and study tables on various other floors in the building.
