10 Fun Ways to Celebrate Easter this Year

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Waterloo chapter.

After a long and painful winter season, spring is officially underway, and it’s the perfect time for a good celebration!

With Easter Weekend just around the corner, exams wrapping up, and the sun shining more each day, now’s the time to get your friends together and have some fun trying out the following festive activities:

  1. Easter Egg Hunt

Who says it’s just for kids? Indoors or outside, a good scavenger hunt is always fun, especially if the eggs contain cash instead of chocolates!

  1. Dye or Paint Easter Eggs

This is one of my family’s favourite traditions. There are plenty of online tutorials on how to use food colouring to dye eggs, or if you have some nice paints or craft supplies lying around, get creative and decorate those eggs in other cool ways!

  1. Fill Easter Baskets

The quintessential easter treat… chocolate! Put together some baskets of sweets for the ones you love. I guarantee it will be well-received.

  1. Plant Flowers

It’s officially springtime! Brighten your front yard or patio garden with some bright spring flowers. I love lilies, personally.

  1. Make Easter Crafts

Check out this website for some adorable themed craft ideas, for the kids in your family or for yourself!

  1. Send out seasonal cards

It’s nice to send and receive cards at any time of the year! It’s been a little while since Christmas, so let people know that you’re still thinking about them during this spring season!

  1. Decorate a Birdhouse

I’ve always wanted to try this! My grandmother gets plenty of cardinals to visit her backyard birdhouse, and I’m starting to believe it’s because it’s so pleasing to look at!

  1. Have a Picnic

Wait for a warm day, pack some sandwiches, and bring along your favourite blanket! You and your friends will have a blast. I did this last year — so fun!

  1. Bake Bunny-Shaped Treats

I encourage any excuse to bake! Cupcakes, cookies, bright-coloured and yummy sweets! Pinterest is a gold mine.

  1. Dress up your pet with cute bunny ears!

I mean, this is pretty adorable, no? Take lots of pictures!

Happy Easter Season everyone!
