Wardrobe Malfunction Crisis

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Washington chapter.

Ladies. Today something happened that I believe needs to be used as a cautionary tale. I just want ya’ll to be prepared.
Today during a bathroom break at work, my world collapsed all around me. You see, I was wearing one of my favorite black dresses. It’s a bit short, but multi-layered and “ok over a pair of tights”. While in the bathroom, a long black string coming from somewhere beckoned me to pull it. What else was I going to do?
But something didn’t feel right. I looked down, and TWO LAYERS OF MY SKIRT HAD FALLEN OFF. What?! I had to double check in the mirror, and sure enough, the only part of my dress that was left was the see-through part. No way was that going to work for the rest of the day.

I played it cool and walked casually back to the office, hand gripping the side of my skirt. I looked everywhere for safety pins but all I could find were those clamps for big stacks of paper. I’ll take what I can get. Desperate times call for desperate measures.
Once I was all “clamped up”, I kicked myself over and over again for not being prepared.

What’s the lesson here, girls?
1) You never know when you’ll need a sewing kit
2) Don’t pull any unknown string in public, especially when you’ve got the rest of your day to face
