Okay, let’s be honest: The 2017 Oscars were a bit of a tumultuous production this year, from misinterpreting the best picture to Viola’s heart wrenching speech to Janelle Monae’s Elie Saab Haute Couture gown. While I’m not a big movie fan myself (I know), I do quite enjoy sitting and silently, or not so silently, assessing the fashion choices of our A-listers. While I respect everyone’s right to individuality and expression, some looks stood out more than others. Let’s review some of the gorgeous styles we spotted on the red carpet on Sunday.

1. Chrissy Teigen

Can you say Grecian goddess? Her look was flawless, from her long sleeved beaded cream dress to those earrings! Is there a best dressed list Teigen hasn’t been on?

2. Jennifer Aniston

I’m not sure I’ve ever seen Jen look less than stunning. If I could age as well as her and pull off that leg slit at 48 I wouldn’t ask for anything more. Her sleek and sparkly black dress was a criminally underrated look of the night. You can always count on Aniston to present a look that’s classic yet still breathtaking.

3. Ruth Negga

That Valentino red. The long sleeved red lace dress stood out among the countless strapless gowns we grew tired of on the red carpet. Adorning her tasteful updo, Negga rocked a modern looking headpiece. Headpieces were common this year and Negga definitely didn’t go wrong with hers.

4. Taraji P. Henson

Navy blue velvet, need I say more? The statement necklace pulls everything together to create a look that screams Old Hollywood.

5. Dwayne Johnson

More blue velvet – great minds think alike. Shout out to The Rock for breaking the streak of matte black tuxes with this stylish cobalt blue bazer. It’s unique enough to stand out but muted enough to not be too flashy.
