Netflix’s Sex Education is the Raunchy New Comedy Show We Should ALL Be Watching

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Washington chapter.

Earlier this month, the show Sex Education dropped on Netflix, and if you haven’t already seen it, then you are in for a treat. The show addresses the awkwardness of everything sex related in a funny and un-romantic manner, which makes pretty much all teenagers go, “yep—that’s me”.

Without giving too much away for those who may not have seen the show already, Sex Education follows the lives of 16-17 year olds in a school in England, as they navigate their way through losing their virginities, exploring the workings of pleasure and pretty much all things sex-related that are on their minds. The show’s main character, Otis Milburn, is your typical geeky teenage boy who becomes infatuated with the school’s rebel, Maeve Wiley. Together, and with some help from his gay best friend Eric, they start up a sex therapy clinic for the students after discovering that Otis has the rather special gift of helping people with their sexual mishaps, most likely acquired from his mother who is a sex therapist.

With its witty, dry humor and hilariously uncomfortable sex scenes that are probably closer to depicting what it’s really like compared to those classic Nicholas Sparks movies, this show is SO relatable to pretty much everyone, even if you are way past your teenage years. The show even discusses the negative side of love, such as rejection but does it in a way that is really quite sweet to watch.

I managed to binge watch the entire series in one day; you won’t be able to stop once you’ve started it!
