With Mother’s Day coming up, it is time to start looking for a gift for your Mom. If you’re like me, about 2,000 miles away from home, you will need a way to send her a gift from far away. Here are five fun and easy Mother’s Day gift ideas!

1. Door dashing

None of us are strangers to food deliveries from DoorDash, but did you know they have florists you can order from as well? Getting a bouquet of your mother’s favorite flowers ordered right to her home is a great way to show a little extra love this spring. DoorDash can also do chocolates and other sweet treats your mom may enjoy!

2. Letter mail

Speaking from experience, my mom loves when I send her handwritten notes and mail them home. Sending a little “thank you for being my mom” note is a super easy and inexpensive way to show your mom a little extra appreciation this May. If you want to make it fancier, designing your own card with photos of you or a drawing is always a good idea.

3. Homemade Jewelry

While jewelry is a pretty standard Mother’s Day gift, making it yourself can be cheaper and more personal. All you need is some string for a simple friendship bracelet. There are thousands of tutorials on the internet to teach you how to make your own jewelry. One big winner is putting beads with your (and your siblings, if you have any) initials on a bracelet or necklace.

4. Coupon Book

Growing up, making a coupon book was a staple present. Folding a piece of paper into little squares and designing them to look like coupons is super easy. Then, your mom can cash these in! Some ideas could include recommendations for new music or movies, doing the laundry or dishes, going for a hike, buying coffee, making dinner, etc. The options are endless!

5. Subscription boxes

While these tend to be on the more expensive side, subscription boxes are a fun way to show your mom love throughout the year (or every six months). There are lots of easy subscriptions out there that have Mother’s Day sales. The Bloomin’ Bin subscription box is great for moms who love to garden or have plants around the house. They have a variety of options ranging from just seeds to succulent plants! Additionally, FabFitFun is a subscription box that comes as a surprise for the seasons. Each box is packed with necessities for each season. For example, the summer one often has moisturizers, skincare, makeup, sunscreen, and many other fun products!
