Aww, don’t you guys just love Joel McHale? What a fella!
You probably know him from his role on Community as Jeff Winger, and/or his hosting gig on E!’s The Soup. But did you know McHale earned both his B.A. and M.A. at UW? OH YEAH, class of ’95 and also ’00!!!
Joel was actually born in Rome, Italy and raised in Mercer Island, WA. He graduated from (you guessed it) Mercer Island High School in 1991, and went on to pursue his B.A. in history. History! After he graduated, he just couldn’t get enough of the DAWG pound and also earned his M.F.A. in acting 5 years later. During his time as a grad student, he interned at the Seattle-based sketch comedy show Almost Live!
Currently, Joel is still going strong on The Soup and Community. He has two movies (one of which with fellow husky Anna Faris) coming out this year! Proud of you, Joel! HC Washington loves you!
