Where are you from?

Whidbey Island. I grew up riding the ferry nonstop, so I totally get why Derek Shepherd was so into them on Grey’s Anatomy.

What’s your favorite place at UW?

Paccar Hall. I’m a business major, that place is my home away from home—sometimes I’m there from 8 am until when they close at 11 pm. I’m in love with the fireplace and the huge, huge windows. The fact that our cafe, Orin’s, serves coffee and pasta doesn’t hurt either.

How’d you get involved in Her Campus?

Freshman year I lived next door to one of our old Campus Correspondents & saw her post about Her Campus applications like an hour before they were due. I’ve never typed so fast on a Google Form in my life. The rest is history, and I ended up being an editorial intern at Her Campus nationals this past summer.

What are five things that are always in your backpack?

CHAPSTICK (I can’t go anywhere without it, I swear), a Day Designer planner, ultra fine nib gel pens, a backup battery for my phone, and a KIND bar (you never know when you might get hangry).

What’s your favorite quote?

“Sometimes you win, sometimes you learn.”

Is there anything you consider yourself an expert in?

Can you consider yourself an expert at brunch? Also Hamilton, business law, and the current inventory of my local Anthropologie.

What are your favorite books?

I love Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn, The Secret History by Donna Tartt, and We Were Liars by E. Lockhart.

Do you have any bad habits?

Wearing yoga pants almost every day & wasting hours on Pinterest.

What #girlboss most inspires you?

Reese Witherspoon. I really admire the way she handled her early career and is now carving space for herself and other women in the industry with her new production company and media company. Big Little Lies was amazing. And don’t even get me started on Draper James, her super successful lifestyle brand. Can I be her when I grow up?
