Disney officially launched their streaming service in November 2019, and it’s been doing pretty well. Personally, Disney Plus is my favorite streaming service of all time! I love the variety of shows and movies on there; they give me a chance to relive my childhood by watching older shows, which makes me very happy. Without further ado, here are five of the best shows and movies on Disney Plus:
1. Boy Meets World
I watched Girl Meets World as a kid, but always heard that Boy Meets World was better; when I found it on Disney Plus, I couldn’t wait to start watching. Boy Meets World is my current favorite show; it’s just perfect in every way. The show has a lot of life lessons but wraps them in experiences that Cory, Shawn, Topanga, and the other main characters go through, which makes it even better. I highly recommend this show; it’s a heartwarming show!
2. Aladdin (Live Action)
When I found out that Disney Plus added the live action Aladdin on the service, I got so excited! Aladdin is one of my favorite movies of all time, and personally, I enjoyed the live action better than the animated one (probably not the most popular opinion, sorry). Mena Massoud does an amazing job in the role of Aladdin, and I absolutely love Naomi Scott in the role of Jasmine as well as just in general! It’s such a classic movie, and I highly recommend it if you haven’t seen it!
3. The Mandalorian
Disney Plus released a show called The Mandalorian, and it’s been an instant success. That’s honestly probably because of the show’s main star (hint: it’s not the Mandalorian), Baby Yoda. Baby Yoda is so precious, and he is the cutest character in the Star Wars Universe (in my opinion). The show itself has a great plotline and seeing Baby Yoda for about 30 minutes is enough to make my day. I’m not quite finished with the first season yet (I’m currently finishing up the last season of Boy Meets World), but in case you’ve already finished the first season, the second season’s planned release date is in September.
4. Pick of the Litter
If you’re a dog lover like I am, this is the show for you. Pick of the Litter was originally a movie about puppies on a journey to become guide dogs, but Disney Plus took the movie and built on it by releasing a TV show. This show is so adorable; the puppies are so cute (!!) and it’s really interesting to learn about the journey for a puppy to become a guide dog.
