Ways to Avoid the Cold at WashU

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Wash U chapter.

As winter approaches, nobody wants to be outside, much less walk across campus to class in the cold. However, there are a few hacks that can slightly improve the walk and make it a little warmer.

1. The DUC

It is always easy to cut through the DUC when getting from the South 40 to main campus. However, you’re bound to see someone you know so enter with caution.

2. Mallinckrodt

Another shortcut from the South 40 to main campus. As a bonus, you can even stop in the bookstore and get a cozy WashU sweatshirt to keep you extra warm. You can never have too many sweatshirts!

3. Eads

Eads is great because you can get multiple places quickly from here. From Eads, you can either stop in Holmes Lounge to get lunch and sit by the fireplace, or face the cold and continue on to Ridgley or other academic buildings on Brookings.

Good luck staying warm!!
