A WashU Girl’s Guide to Dressing for WILD

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Wash U chapter.

Choosing an outfit to party in is always a difficult task—comfy, cute, don’t mind getting stained because you know you’ll end up slapping the bag, definitely don’t look like you’re trying too hard but don’t look like a bum either. But, your WILD outfit takes on a whole new dimension—the day starts at 80 degrees, but by the time you walk your way over to Brookings Quad, it’s dropped 20 degrees. Do you wear shorts? Jeans? A romper? Here is your guide to your outfit choice to this year’s WILD.

Let’s go bottom up,

1. SHOES

Your shoe options for WILD are pretty simple. Any shoe that is flat, comfortable, and most importantly, close-toed. Because you will be stepped on.

2. PANTS

Although weather is quite unpredictable, it’s better safe than sorry. Friday weather expects light showers with a high temperature of 75 and a low of 61. If you are in between wearing jean shorts or jeans, go for the jeans. However, if you have a flowy pair of shorts or a short skirt that you’re dying to wear, WILD is definitely the day to do show them off.

3. TOPS

Pretty much it’s a slightly more conservative Coachella. If you’re wearing jeans, you can’t go wrong with a flowered top. This is your last time to pull out those cute summer clothes for one last hurrah!

4. SWEATERS

I would suggest not bringing a sweater if you are wearing long pants, but for those wearing shorts or a romper, you should consider bringing one. Especially if you can rock the “sweater/flannel around the waist” look.

5. ROMPERS

Finally, if you have a cute romper that you just haven’t had a chance to wear. IT’S THE TIME!

Come to Brookings quad Friday, October 23rd to see KYGO perform at WILD!
