Thanksgiving is coming up, and that means food, family, and turkey. This year, with corona, Thanksgiving will definitely look different, but that doesn’t mean the food can’t be as delicious as before. Food is the way to bring people together.

Here are some of the foods I look forward to on Thanksgiving:

1. Mashed Potatoes

I love potatoes, the true versatile root of nature. I look forward to homemade mashed potatoes every Thanksgiving. There’s something yummy in the fluffy potato mash.

2. Turkey

The poster bird of Thanksgiving. Also, very juicy and flavorful.

3. The Pies

My favorite pies are the two traditional pies: Apple and Pumpkin (I know, I’m basic). Apple pie is the continuance of my love for apple food products. Quick plug: the BD apple pie is actually pretty good. With pumpkin pie, I love to eat it with whipped cream.

4. Sparkling Apple Cider

Yeah, it’s another apple product. But my family buys sparkling apple cider exclusively for Thanksgiving. And for some reason, I really like it. It’s apple cider, but fizzy—soda but juice-flavored.

5. Chinese Flower Rolls (Hua Juan)

As a Chinese family, we also include many more traditional Chinese dishes in the mix as well. One of the top dishes my mom always makes is Hua Juan. Translated, they mean Flower Rolls, which describes them pretty well. They’re handmade, fresh rolls made out of flour. Simple, but goes well with the turkey.

Enjoy your Thanksgiving, and please celebrate safely!
