There’s no doubt that some of us didn’t expect the global pandemic to last this long, and Halloween definitely won’t be the same as it was before. But that doesn’t mean we can’t still embrace all the spooks and sweets that creep along with this exciting holiday, so don’t throw out your costume just yet! Here are a few safe and fun ways (for all risk levels) to celebrate the Halloween season this year (costume optional)!

Play some Halloween music in the background as you work your magic, and you can choose to do this by yourself, with family, or with socially-distanced and masked friends!

Bake some Halloween treats

Again, you can choose whether or not to do this alone. It’s also up to you on whether or not you want to share your delicious treats with others or deliver them (just be safe)!

Fill some bags with candy, treats, fake spiders, real spiders (jk), or whatever else your heart desires! Then, drop them off at your friends’ doorstep. They will appreciate you – well, depending on what you decide to put in them.

Virtually watch Halloween movies while eating candy

You could have a friend share-screen on Zoom or use Netflix Party to watch Halloween movies together! My personal favorites are Hotel Transylvania and Twitches, or A Quiet Place if you’re leaning towards a scarier movie.

Host or attend a safe and socially-distanced Halloween party (ideally outside)

Since this is the riskiest option, make sure you are being safe and cautious with yourself and others. Halloween doesn’t give you an excuse not to care about other people (but you’re amazing, so I believe in you)!
