Best Wash U Hotspots to Show Your Prefrosh

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Wash U chapter.

Trying to sell WashU to a prefrosh simply by telling them “omg it’s the best school ever” or “the people are just SO nice” doesn’t quite cut it. When hosting a prefrosh, it’s essential to show off the best spots around WashU and outside of campus.

1) Holmes Lounge

Yes, this sounds ridiculous. However, time travel mentally to when you were looking at colleges and remember how impressed you were by the tiny aesthetic details. One look at those intricate ceilings and the prefrosh will be enchanted by how Instagram-able this school really is.

2) The Loop

Whether you choose to accept it or not, the Loop essentially is our “college town.” Especially as the weather gets warmer, the Loop is the perfect place to see WashU students off campus during the day. Needless to say, a root beer float at Fitz’s is the perfect way to eat back the calories you burn walking to the Loop.

3) Forest Park

“Bigger than Central Park? Really?!” The prefrosh will be mindboggled. Take a walk through Art Hill and if you’re feeling adventurous, rent a boat. Please don’t take them to the History Museum. That’ll only further instill the false idea that all we do here is academics.

4) The Arch

This is pretty much the one landmark St. Louis is known for around the country. Though it’s a bit of a hike from school, taking a ride up to the top of the Arch and seeing St. Louis from above will be memorable to say the least. For those prefrosh that are sports lovers, Busch Stadium is the place to go after your ride.

5) Harry’s

No explanation necessary.
