As a certified *Texan*, I have pretty high standards of Tex-Mex, especially when it comes to queso. So naturally, I have been scoping out the best queso spots in St. Louis:
1. Mission Taco Joint
A man straight up tried to mug me at Mission Taco. And I still want to go back because the queso was that good. Enough said.
2. Seoul Taco
A yummy ~alternative~ choice for when you wanna feel artsy.
3. El Maguey
A solid queso blanco, definitely the best thing on the menu.
4. El Burro Loco
Large portions, fairly cheap, no complaints here.
5. Qdoba Mexican Grill
If you’re looking for some pretty standard queso, you can’t go wrong with Qdoba. It’s good, but not day-dream-during-class-about-queso good.
6. Chipotle

Though it is about time that Chipotle finally added queso to their menu, the result was disappointing. Stick to the tried and true burritos.
Though St. Louis has some pretty amazing food and I have experienced some pretty amazing queso here, I am still on the hunt for the best queso in the city.
