The Best Dressed at the 2015 Oscars

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Wash U chapter.

Awards season has come and gone, and now we sadly have to wait another year to gawk at our favorite celebrities on the red carpet. One of the best parts about the Oscars is lusting after the many gorgeous gowns and sparkling jewels worn by Hollywood’s best. Here are some of the most notable highlights from the fashion at this year’s ceremony.

1. Cate Blanchett, Maison Martin Margiela Couture Dress and Tiffany’s Jewelry: Cate’s choice to pair a simple black dress with a striking turquoise necklace made her a standout. The tastefulness of her dress was complemented perfectly by the boldness of her necklace. Well done.

2. Rosamund Pike, Givenchy Dress: Even though I’m still scared of her after seeing Gone Girl, Rosamund’s red strapless lace dress was simply divine. Her styling was perfectly simple, allowing her dress to take the spotlight that it deserved. Let’s face it, she looked flawless.

3. Emma Stone, Elie Saab Dress and Tiffany’s Jewelry: I may be biased because I love her, but Emma looked absolutely incredible. The modesty of the long sleeves on her gown was perfectly offset by the thigh-high slit. The vivid color paired perfectly with her red hair. She nailed it.

4. Margot Robbie, Saint Laurent Dress and Van Cleef &Arpels Jewelry: Margot pulled off the perfect sultry look with her slinky black gown and bold red lip. Her deep side-part, her gorgeous tassel necklace, her sheer sleeves and her plunging neckline all worked seamlessly together to create her stunning look. Can I be her please?
