Even though I’m admittedly more of a cheesy rom-com movie kind of girl, I do enjoy a good action movie from time to time. I can’t even really explain why I like some of the movies I’m recommending in a way that makes sense other than just to myself, but they’re comfort movies that I’ve watched more than once and are just enjoyable to watch for fun. Anyways, here are some of my favorite action movies!

  1. The Guardians of the Galaxy movies – I personally don’t actively follow Marvel (yes, I know, sorry), but you really don’t need any background knowledge to watch these, and they’re such a good time… please watch (if you haven’t already)
  2. The new Jumanji movies – these movies are so fun and have me laughing the whole time (also, Dwayne Johnson)
  3. Journey 2: The Mysterious Island – no explanation other than that I have a strange childhood attachment to this movie because it stars Josh Hutcherson, Vanessa Hudgens, and Dwayne Johnson
  4. San Andreas – can you tell Dwayne Johnson movies are my guilty pleasure?
  5. The Hunger Games movies – if you haven’t watched these movies since middle school but you’ve been thinking about it, this is your sign; now that I’m older, I actually understand what the movies/books are about, and it makes me feel so smart lol
  6. The Jurassic World movies – come on, it’s dinosaurs; that speaks for itself
  7. The How to Train Your Dragon trilogy – probably my favorite movie series of all time, no lie
  8. Power Rangers – when I was little, I was “one of those girls” who preferred Power Rangers to Barbies (much to my mom’s dismay), so this movie makes me feel nostalgic
  9. Mulan – shouldn’t even have to explain why I like this one (I also thought the live-action version was amazing as well)
  10. Jack the Giant Slayer – I feel like not a lot of people know about this movie, but it’s a really entertaining action-fantasy movie; I suggest giving it a shot if you’re up for it
