Winter Things You Can Do This Christmas Season!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Waseda chapter.

‘Tis the season!

Okay, without a doubt, it has been a tough year…but that gives us all the more reason to make sure we make the most of what’s left of it! Here are some things you can do to enjoy this magical season and get in the Christmas mood! (Remember to wear a mask whenever you go out and keep sanitizing!)

Wintery photoshoot!

Step out for some fresh air with your friends or family, and snap a few photos of you all having fun in the snow or surrounded by the beautiful, bare trees. You can also take photos indoors, of course – by the Christmas tree or other holiday decorations! Check our Pinterest for some inspo!

Make a Christmas/holiday playlist

While we can’t stop listening to the classics, it’s also that time of year again when music artists are putting out fun, holiday albums. Make a playlist of all your favorite holiday songs that will really get you in the mood to celebrate this season!

Have movie nights with hot chocolate

It’s the best time to snuggle up in blankets with hot chocolate in hand, and binge-watch your favorite Christmas movies while also enjoying the new ones!

Buy cute sweaters

Now is the time to cozy up in cute sweaters! Hit the stores and funk up your closet with holiday prints (some may find a little tacky, but who cares?).

Go ice skating

Just a classic, fun, winter activity. Check out various locations wherever you may be, and make sure to socially distance even on ice!

Make home-cooked meals and treats

Doesn’t hot food just taste better when you know it’s cold outside? Take the time to cook with your family or friends! Try baking Christmas treats as well!

Make holiday cards

Take the time to be creative and make some holiday cards! It can be really fun sitting with your friends, family, or even alone, to write out thoughtful messages on cute cards that you designed yourself! You may have lost contact with some people or simply haven’t been able to talk to some friends as much this year since all things considered, so why not show them you still care by sending them holiday cards?

Make Christmas decorations

Really gets you in the festive mood! There are so many things you can make or do to make your room/house feel like a winter wonderland!

Go to a Christmas market

Look at the pretty lights and decorations while enjoying some holiday-themed foods and drinks!

Try new holiday drinks

Gingerbread latte, peppermint mocha, salted caramel coffee, white chocolate latte, and so much more! There are so many tasty holiday drinks – enjoy them now!

Volunteer or donate

Whether you’re donating money or time, any act of kindness goes a long way, and it’s what the season is all about! Give back to the community and spread the love (safely)!

Reflect on the year

It’s been a long year. But guess what? You made it through. Write out a list of the things you are proud of from this year or all the things you want to do next year!
