Congrats girl! You survived finals, a time known for late nights and what seems like endless studying. While you were living them, it probably felt like those stressful days would never end. So now you’re going back home for a month and probably thinking, “Now what?” So much of your free time was consumed by school, but now it’s time to rest and practice some self-care so you can arrive back on campus feeling like your best self in January. Here are some quick tips to reset and rejuvenate over winter break!
This first tip may seem self-explanatory, but extremely essential: SLEEP! Now is the time to truly let your body rest and catch up on all the sleep debt you’ve collected through the semester. Research suggests that college ladies need anywhere between 7-9 hours of sleep every night. Get your rest girl, you deserve it!
Next, treat yourself to some self-care – however that looks for you. For me, that could be anything from going to get my nails done to curling up in bed with a face mask and some Netflix. It’s all about what you like. Some other ideas include a peaceful walk outside with your favorite music, a warm bubble bath, or some quiet journaling.
My last tip would be to pour into your connections and relationships. What makes us who we are is the people we surround ourselves with. Spending time with family and friends is a great way to look after yourself. Everyone is so busy during the semester, so it’s good to take the time to catch up with the ones we love. Watch a movie with your family or go on a coffee date with a friend. The possibilities are truly endless!
