With Thanksgiving passing by, we have to ask the ultimate question. When is it too early to put up that Christmas tree? Could you do it the day of Thanksgiving? What about even before Thanksgiving? Is that absolutely insane?

Personally, I think no, it is never too early to start decorating for Christmas. My main reason is that there is not a lot of time after Thanksgiving to get all of the time-consuming decorations up, so why not start before Thanksgiving?

Alongside that, who could ever hate the smell of a Christmas candle? Plus, putting up all the fun decor makes the joy of the holidays last longer. Christmas lights, trees, candles, hot chocolate, and music undeniably brighten anyone’s mood, and I love to start that joy as early as I can.

Picture this: After a long semester and the beginning of cold weather, you get to go home for Thanksgiving break and see the Christmas lights on and all the decorations glittering. It immediately makes you feel warm inside!

This is exactly what my home brings me every year. Walking into my house, smelling a peppermint candle burning and “Last Christmas” playing brings an instant smile to my face. Getting our Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving makes the whole house feel complete, and decorating it while Christmas music plays is one of my favorite family traditions.

For me, the decorations are a reminder to slow down and enjoy the holidays. The lights and warmth of a fire remind me of the joy I get from being around my family and bring to life the peace and joy of the holiday season. Starting early does not rush the Christmas season, but gives us more time to enjoy what truly matters. So, what do you think? Did I convince you to start decorating for Christmas before Thanksgiving?
