‘Tis the Mani-Pedi Season: Spring Polish Picks

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Wake Forest chapter.

Springtime = fingers and toes can finally come out to play! After a winter of hiding inside of countless fashionable boots and coat pockets, it is time for nails to get the attention they deserve. Colorful nails can instantly brighten your mood and make every outfit look a tiny bit more chic. Consider these dazzling seasonal shades the next time you take a trip to the salon or do an at-home mani/pedi.

1) Bit of Sparkle – For a little glimmer that might just catch his attention across the room. Layer them on top of pastels to keep the look soft and sophisticated.

2) Pastels – Surprise! Pastels are in again this season! No… but really, they are. Stock up on pastel shades. Try Essie’s Spring 2014 line.

3) Mother of Pearl – Pearl lends a more subtle shimmer appropriate for those countless internship interviews.

4) Lilac Love – Bring a little bit of color from those springtime flowers to your nails (maisonesthetique.ro).

5) Prim and Proper Pink – Keep it classy and classic with a ballerina pink that brings back memories of recitals past. We’re talking blush and bashful straight out of “Steel Magnolias!” Embrace it!

6) Whispering Yellow – Yellow doesn’t have to be loud. Go for the softer shade. (makeupandbeautycare.com)

7) Tropical – For those ready to jumpstart that 75 degree weather, opt for the tropical. Essie has a line devoted solely to the classics.

8) Mint – It’s mint to be! Embrace the color and embrace the pun. Mint is a perfect polish shade to match the slight chill still lingering in the air. (butfirstcoffee.blogspot.com)

9) Nude Fantasies – Nude is the new black. The color is instantly sexy yet practical Hint: nude is great for the busy collegiate with little time to repaint their nails. The flesh tone polish is less noticeable when chipping. (labellabronze.blogspot.com)

10) Chic Metallics – Play around with funky metallics for warmer nights out with friends.

Happy polishing!
